ABOUT AED

THE ASSOCIATION OF LEADERS IN EQUIPMENT DISTRIBUTION

Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) is an international trade association representing companies involved in the distribution, rental and support of equipment used in construction, mining, forestry, power generation, agriculture and industrial applications.

AED serves:

  • Independent distributors that sell, rent, and provide aftermarket support for construction equipment and related equipment and products
  • Manufacturers of construction and related equipment and products
  • Suppliers of business services, including finance, insurance, business systems/ERP and others

AED has many core strengths, but most notably, it’s our ability to speak with one unified voice as an industry. The organization finds success in many ways; mainly, it’s through our ability to maintain excellent relationships with dealer principals and professionals in manufacturing through understanding the challenges that they face in their specific business operations. There are not very many members of AED who are not active in AED. Primarily, that is due to the fact that you can’t fully recognize the value of your membership unless you’re participating in the association, in taking advantage of the programs and services that your dues dollars have gone to support.

WHAT AED HAS TO OFFER

At AED, we offer a variety of services and business development opportunities to our association members at a reduced rate:

  • Research and analysis: Use our informative research and reports, resource guides, magazines and other publications to keep abreast of industry news and trends that impact your business.
  • Events: Attending our events such as the annual AED Summit enables you to meet and interact with dealer owners and managers to discuss equipment purchasing opportunities that will boost your company’s revenues and bolster the bottom line.
  • Advocacy: AED serves as the voice of North American equipment distributors in Washington, D.C. and Ottawa. We advocate on behalf of all our members to affect legislative change that benefits machine manufacturing companies and equipment dealers across the nation.
  • Public relations: We promote knowledge, understanding and enhancement of the continually evolving role of heavy equipment suppliers in the rapidly changing marketplace.

Becoming an AED member and utilizing these services will save time and provide a more enriching and rewarding experience than attempting to access them separately. The unmatched quality of the education and information you’ll receive will benefit you and your organization for years to come.
